Park Event Permit Fees

These fees do not apply for weddings in Loose Park. For more information, please visit the Loose Park Weddings Page.

General Usage Permits: Nothing may be sold on park/boulevard property

These requests must be submitted at least 30 days out -

If requesting less than 30 days out from event date, you must call to speak with the Events Administrator (816-513-7787) . If it is determined there is park space available for your event, a $25 late processing fee will be added to your permit purchase.

Petite/Private Events

Events of up to 20 people with no electrical equipment (Ex. Pop-up Picnics, very small ceremonies)
Time permit: Up to 2 hours on the same day, $50.00

Micro Events

Events of 21-50 people in which no rental or electrical equipment are being brought on the property. (Ex. Candlelight vigils, small rallies, small ceremonies)
Time permit: Up to 2 hours on same day, $80.00

Small Events

Events of less than 250 people in which no large rental or large electrical equipment are being brought on the property. (Ex: reunions, weddings, small corporate events)
Time permit: Up to 5 hours on same day, $175.00

Medium Size Events

Events of less than 500 people where some rental or electrical equipment may be brought on the property. Fundraisers include all non-profit (501c3) events soliciting donations or registrations. (Ex. Runs, walks, corporate events)
Time permit: Up to 12 hours on same day, $375.00
Additional set up/tear down: $100.00 for each day

Large Scale Events/Fundraisers

Events of 500 people or more where large rental or electrical equipment may be brought on the property. Includes non-profit (501c3) events, soliciting donations or registrations.
Time permit: Up to 12 hours on same day, $700.00
Additional set up/tear down: $100.00 for each day

Street Use Fees

Fee for events that take place on a KC Parks street/boulevard/parkway alone or in conjunction with an event in an adjacent park.
Street only, no sales: $750.00 per event day/per street
Addition to park, no sales: $250.00 per day/per street
Additional set up/tear down: $100.00 for each day

There is a $50 non-refundable deposit to schedule an event/wedding in KC Parks. The $50 deposit will be applied to the total permit fee.

Board Approved Agreements: Specific Park/Boulevard Usage

Notice

These requests must be submitted at least 90 days out. Requests will not be considered without proper notice.

Free Events with Sales

This includes any free event (no admission fee) where items are being sold on public property to the general public. This type of event needs to be approved by the Board of Parks and Recreation and have a Use and Concession Contract. (Ex: the sale of food or drink, arts and crafts, booth space, etc.)
$1,000.00 per event day
Additional set up/tear down: $100.00 for each day

Events with Admission Fees/Ticketed Event

This includes all events where access to the property is closed and/or a ticket may be required. This level of event needs to be approved by the Board of Parks and Recreation and have a Use and Concession Contract. (Ex: Festivals, Concerts, Black Tie Events, etc.)
$5,000.00 per event day
Additional set up/tear down: $100.00 for each day

Street Use Fees

Fee for events that take place on a KC Parks street/boulevard/parkway alone or in conjunction with an event in an adjacent park.
Street only, with sales: $1,000.00 per event day/per street
Addition to park, with sales: $500.00 per day/per street
Additional set up/tear down: $100.00 for each day
