LOCATION: Lakeside Nature Center


The Lakeside Nature Center partners with Camp Fire Heartland for summer programs that immerse participants ages  5-15 in nature to learn, explore, and grow together while developing a lifelong respect for the outdoors. A different theme each week:

Adventure Outdoors! – June 19-23
Get ready for an outdoor adventure of epic proportions! Experience nature up close while hiking and learning about the outdoors and having fun with traditional camp activities such as archery, crafts, and more.

Animal Safari! – June 26-30
Do you love animals? Get ready for an animal adventure! Experience all sorts of creatures so close you won’t even need binoculars. Youth will gain a deeper understanding for conservation while participating in traditional camp activities

Team USA! – July 3-7 (This is only a 4 day week due to Independence Day)
A week full of what makes the Red, White, & Blue so great! Youth will have a great time filled with fun, sports, and discovery. Patriotic crafts and activities while experiencing traditional camp activities.

Create, Build, & Grow! – July 10-14
Do you like to get creative? If so, this week is filled with art and building projects while also experiencing great traditional camp activities. Let your imagination go wild because anything’s possible!

Splash Camp! – July 17-21
Does your youth love the water? If so, this is a week filled with water activities, water parks, and swimming while also experiencing traditional camp activities. Youth will enjoy a wet and wild adventure!

Discovery Week! – July 24-28
What makes you, “YOU?” Spend this week discovering what your “Spark” is. Sparks are the passions, skills, and strengths that are discoverable in all of us. They become passions for us, and when allowed and encouraged to explore those passions, we thrive.

Nature Unleashed! – July 31-August 4
Do your kids love nature? Youth will experience a real outdoor adventure while gaining an appreciation for conservation, animals, and the environment around them. This week will be filled with exciting activities while also participating in traditional camp activities.
