Youth ages 10 to 15 are exposed to lifeguarding techniques, first aid, and CPR training. Leadership and responsibility are emphasized while learning the skills to become lifeguard certified. Ability to swim 50 meters and submerge underwater are required prior to enrollment. 4 hours of job shadowing of current lifeguards are available upon course completion. Successful completion of the Junior LifeGUARD program results in a FREE Midwest Pool Management certification class when age eligible. Prizes for completing, competing and attending the entire program. Class length is 45 minutes. Pre-registration is required. All classes held at Swope Park.
