Two Races will Affect Traffic in Wendell Phillips, Shoal Creek

The City of Kansas City, Mo., is notifying motorists that races will affect traffic this Friday morning in the Wendell Phillips neighborhood and Saturday evening in the Shoal Creek area.

The Walk-A-Thon for Literacy will begin Friday, July 12 at Mount Pleasant Freedom School, at the intersection of 22nd and Olive streets. Rolling road closures will take place from about 9 a.m. to noon on the following race route: head west on 22nd Street; south on Brooklyn Avenue; east on 27th Street; north on Prospect Avenue; west on 22nd Street to Olive Street to finish.

The Northland Hot Trot will begin Saturday, July 13 in Hodge Park. Road closures will take place from approximately 7-9 p.m. on Northeast 96th Street/Northeast Shoal Creek Parkway, roughly between just east of I-435 and just north of Shoal Creek Golf Course (Access Road).
