Leon Brady is most noted for taking his stage band more than 4,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean to Paris, France. Despite the odds, the band won an International Jazz Festival there. When the stage band returned from Paris, they cut an album titled “Sumner in Paris ‘1972”. They also performed at opening day of Arrowhead Stadium in August 1972. His band also performed in front of a national audience at the 1969 Sugar Bowl Parade in New Orleans.
In honor of Brady’s birthday and his accomplishments, a new book is being released titled “From the Heart of the Hood to the Pinnacle of Paris.” The book explores Brady’s entire career.
