Sam Gill will present a program titled The Fall of the Alamo – 1836,” and display a diorama illustrating that event. His presentation recounts the incredible story of the foundation of the independent nation and subsequent state of Texas, and the human side of one of the most evocative moments in American history.
Sam is a writer and lecturer who recently spoke at Trailside Center on “Black Regiments in the Civil War”. He has given talks on numerous historical and scientific topics, to such groups as Mensa, Lions Club, Kiwanis, Rotary, Junior League, Civil War Round Table, John Knox Village, SAR, SCV and KC Posse of Westerners. For fifteen years he taught a course in logic and critical thinking, entitled “Unsolved Mysteries, and Extraordinary Phenomena”, at Johnson County Community College.
