The mechanized weaponry of the First World War ushered in an entirely new relationship between organic bodies and the technology that could cause, and attempt to remedy, disfigurement. Join author, professor and exhibition advisor Aaron Shaheen for a lecture exploring the ways in which prosthetic devices were designed, promoted and depicted in the United States during and after WWI. Hosted in conjunction with the special exhibition Bespoke Bodies.
