See the newly planted garden and learn about the monarch butterfly and what you can do to help the conservation of this species. The garden is located in Loose Park, 5200 Wornall, Kansas City, MO 64112, outside of garden center office between the colonnade and the rose garden center. Parking is available in front of the colonnade or behind the garden center. The Monarch demo garden is a joint partnership between of the Westport Garden Club, Powell Gardens, KCMO Parks and Recreation, Burroughs Audubon, and the Missouri Prairie Foundation’s Grow Native! program.
See live Monarch caterpillars while you discover about the Monarch’s fascinating life cycle and extraordinary migration. Learn why milkweed is so important for the Monarch’s survival. The Loose Park Monarch Garden is all native plants that have been selected as great candidates for home gardens; attracting Monarchs and other pollinators.
