Celebrating five years of Walktober!!! Walk, ride or run a different trail the first four Sundays in October. The month of October is ideal for exercising outside ~ the temperatures are cool and the colors are spectacular. Walktober makes the most of this great season by inviting participants on a tour of autumn’s most vibrant landscapes and inspiring everyone to make movement a priority!! Dogs on leashes are welcome. Commemorative Walktober buttons, designed by artist Liz Vargas, for the first 200 participants at each location. Attend all four events and collect all four designs!

Location: Lakewood Greenway in Penguin Park, 4124 NE Vivion Rd, Kansas City, MO 64119 (check-in at the KC Parks tent by the shelter)
This 1.28 mile loop trail starts from the Northland’s very popular Penguin Park. The wide concrete trail wraps around two lakes, over a small pedestrian bridge, and through woods before ending back at the park which features oversized iconic fiberglass animals and and an updated nostalgic playground.
