Summer 2021 Season
At over 80 years old, Swope is our oldest major pool. Due to the age of the pool and fluctuating temperatures, the concrete around the pool has deteriorated significantly, and is currently unsafe to operate. We are currently working with our contractor for a temporary fix to get the pool open this season. The pool will require a more permanent solution, which we will explore in the off season.
In operation since 1940 it has undergone several renovations. This large, handicap accessible, outdoor aquatic facility has two pools of varying shapes and sizes. Swope Pool has an office, guardroom, concession area, dressing rooms, and showers. Next to the sprayground is a large shaded picnic area. There is separate pool spectator area.Two patron parking lots are available.
The spray ground is 70’ by 35’.
The diving pool in 70’ by 40’ with a depth of 12’ and has a surface area of 2,800 square feet. It has three 1-meter diving boards.
The water surface area is 2,800 square feet and it holds 251,328 gallons of water.
The diving pool also has a climbing wall.
This Olympic size pool is 165’ by 105’ with a depth ranging from 3’ to 3’6”. The surface area is 17,325 square feet and holds 427,651 gallons of water.
This pool has a small slide for children aged 8 and under.
Water controls are located in the pump room.
There are valves in the pump room used to operate the system.
Programming Notes: Swim lessons, aquacise, lap swimming and a recreational swim team are offered.
The sprayground has a patron capacity of 221.
The diving pool has a 127 patron capacity.
The Olympic pool has a patron capacity of 1,559.
