Two South Kansas City, Missouri Parks–James A. Reed Park located at 8801 James A.Reed Road and Bannister Park at 9800 James A. Reed Road–recently received trail and playground improvements.

The asphalt trail at Bannister Park was overlaid with new asphalt, new play equipment for 5-12 year olds and 2-5 year olds was installed. Three exercise stations, new swings and a new safety surface were also installed.
A concrete trail at James A. Reed Park was repaired, new spiral motion play pieces added, swings upgraded, new safety surfaces installed and access was opened up into a wooded area.
Gunter Construction was the contractor for both projects.
