Kansas City’s premier drive-thru holiday lights experience opens November 3rd in the Historic Northeast.
After two successful seasons in Swope Park, Winter Magic is moving across town to Cliff Drive in Kessler Park.
“We are excited to bring Winter Magic to Cliff Drive and reactivate the byway for a limited engagement,” says KC Parks Director Chris Cotten. “We are confident that the drive thru holiday lights event will have a positive effect on the neighborhood by raising visibility and awareness of this historic part of Kansas City. Additionally, we look forward to partnering with Northeast businesses and attractions to amplify the economic impact and create an extended experience for visitors.”
Winter Magic runs November 3, 2022, through January 1, 2023, from 6 p.m. to around 9 p.m. nightly. Vehicles will queue up/enter through Gate 1 at The Paseo & Lexington, 1800 Cliff Drive. The one-mile lights experience will begin about ½ mile into the drive and end just prior to exiting onto Gladstone via Gate 3. Gates 1 and 3 will only be open during Winter Magic operating hours. Jolt Lighting President Aaron O’Dell is excited to be making the move. “Roads like Cliff Drive just don’t exist most places. It’s nearly 4-miles of unused two-lane road in the Heart of the City. We are so excited to have the opportunity to join the historic and beautiful neighborhoods in the Northeast, to get to entertain such an amazing community, to bring a special tradition to the Drive, to bring fresh faces and new business to the area and, to do it all while being tucked quietly away in an under-utilized stretch of road. We are thrilled to be playing our part to help revitalize a piece of KC history and can’t wait for you to see it!”
Tickets are $25.00 per carload (limited to 250 cars/hour) and are available online for advanced purchase. Pre-sale tickets are 25% off during the month of October (CODE: PUMPKIN25). A portion of proceeds will benefit KC Parks and capital improvements along Cliff Drive.
