Indian Mound provides a public green space at the intersection of
COUNCIL DISTRICT: 4 Glandstone and Belmot Boulevards and is the namesake of the Indian
Central
PARK DISTRICT: Mound neigborhood. This prominant earthwork is the remnant of a
mound belived to be the work of indigenous peoples who populated
ESTABLISHED: 1911 the Missouri River Valley 800 to 1000 years ago. The mound was rebuilt
ACREAGE: 11.73 Acres in 1930 after decades of vandalsim, erosion, and amatuer exploration.
Today this park is a component of the larger Kessler Park, which forms
a green ribbon along the edge of the north bluffs. This park underwent
PARK AMENITIES a master planning process in 2023. Conversation with the Osage
Tribe is recommended concerning the future of this park. Proposed
