STRENGTHS, WEAKNESSES, & OPPORTUNITIES
Park This park sits at the northwest corner of W. 17th and Jarboe Streets in
4 the Westside neighborhood. The park is adjacent to the Jarboe Pool
and serves residents of the neighborhood as well as the students and
families of Primitivo Garcia Elementary School. It is the southernmost
green space in the larger WestTerrace Park that stretches along the
west bluffs overlooking the West Bottoms. The park features a relatively
new playground on the south side of the pool with many inclusive
features as well as a small fitness playground on the north side of the
pool. The pool closed in 2022 and a new outdoor pool is being designed
for the grounds of the nearby Tony Aguirre Community Center. The ball
diamond and large flexible green space offer multiple opportunities for
recreation. Potential improvements could include
• A park loop trail in the southern portion of the park
• New fencing, backstop, and bleachers for the diamond field
