          SITE LOCATION:  E. 63rd St. & Manchester      STRENGTHS, WEAKNESSES, & OPPORTUNITIES

        CLASSIFICATION:                Park            Big Blue Battlefield Park comprises over 86 acres of land in multiple
        COUNCIL DISTRICT:                    5         parcels on the north side of E. 63rd Street Trafficway between

        PARK DISTRICT:                                 Elmwood Avenue on the west and Hardesty Avenue on the east.  It sits
                                                       adjacent to a mix of light industrial and office land uses, as well as single-
        ESTABLISHED:             1995                  family residential, and Swope Park, to the south.    The park preserves
        ACREAGE:            86.22 acres                some beautiful riparian land along the Blue River and commemorates
                                                       the location of one of the largest Civil War battles fought west of the
                                                       Mississippi River.  It provides a nice stretch of multi-use trail between

                                                       detailing historical events.   The trail provides a safe connection between
