STRENGTHS, WEAKNESSES, & OPPORTUNITIES
Park Arleta Park is located just west of Prospect Avenue between E.
5 77th Street and Wabash Avenue in the heart of the Walnut Grove
neighborhood. It was recently renovated as part of a green infrastructure
project and provides accessible walkways and extensive rain gardens.
The green infrastructure was installed and is maintained by KC Water.
The shelter and site furnishings are in good condition. Opportunities for
improvement include:
• Updated play equipment and surfacing
• Providing interpretive signage highlighting the native vegetation
and stormwater management provided by the park
• New KC Parks signage
