During January and February of 2023, the consultant
team administered a survey questionnaire to all
428 full-time and part-time employees of the
Kansas City Parks and Recreation Department.
Staff were given the opportunity to complete the
questionnaire anonymously through both paper
and digital versions. During this period, 183 staff,
approximately 43% of the total, participated in
the survey. While these results are not statistically
valid and thus not reliably indicative of overall staff
opinion and sentiment, they do provide valuable
insight. The following pages provide the results of
that survey as well as some narrative interpretation
thereof.
