SITE LOCATION: E. 27th St. & Woodland Ave. STRENGTHS, WEAKNESSES, & OPPORTUNITIES
CLASSIFICATION: Park Spring Valley Park and Plaza is a large park just East of Hwy 71. along E.
COUNCIL DISTRICT: 3 29th St. The park is bisected by Spring Valley Park Rd. which provides
PARK DISTRICT: Central street parking oppertunities. The topography changes through the
park East to West and includes several sports fields, playgrounds,
ESTABLISHED: 1902 covered seating/shelters, pond and splashpad. the Bernard Powell
ACREAGE: 26.43 Acres Memoral Fountain is located at the East corner of the park. The park is in
good overall condition, clean and well maintained with several families
enjoying the park at time of visit. Two of the shelters are however
PARK AMENITIES showing their age and could use replacement. The playground
surfacing is also showing signs of wear and has already been patched
• Basketball Courts (2) in seveal places. Since park assessments a fire occured at the shelter
• Benches (14) and it is now being evaluated for structural stability. Opportunities for
