SITE LOCATION: 100 E. Pershing Rd. STRENGTHS, WEAKNESSES, & OPPORTUNITIES

CLASSIFICATION: Park Located just North of Crown Center is Washington Square Park. The
COUNCIL DISTRICT: 4 park includes multiple pathways and ample lighting with mature trees

PARK DISTRICT: Central thoughout. The Missouri Korean War Veterans Memorial is located in
the Southwest corner of the park. The park is a welcome greenspace
ESTABLISHED: 1921 extending north from the Liberty Memoral lawn, however litter and

ACREAGE: 4.74 Acres vandalism pose a maintenance concern. No encampments were
present during the time of visit, however the presence of a large number
of unhoused individuals made traversing the park uncomfortable for
PARK AMENITIES visitors. Suggested improvements include:
• Updated signage throughout
• Benches (9) • additional trash recepticles at seating locations.
• Pedestrian Lighting (50)
• Picnic Tables (2)
• Trash Receptacles (4)
