SITE LOCATION: E. 91st St. & Brooklyn Ave STRENGTHS, WEAKNESSES, & OPPORTUNITIES
CLASSIFICATION: Park Legacy East Park is a natural area located generally east of Woodland
COUNCIL DISTRICT: 5 Avenue between E. 87th and E. 89th Streets. It preserves over 12 acres
of forested riparian corridor and wetland in the Blue River watershed. It

PARK DISTRICT: is bordered by single-family lots and the Union Pacific Railroad. It has
ESTABLISHED: 1972 limited access to public streets. Though the Harry Wiggins Trolley
Track passes along its northern perimeter. This park could be a boon
ACREAGE: 12.7 acres to the neighborhoods to the west which do not have other park options.
However, the topography and limited street access will make traditional
PARK AMENITIES park development challenging. If the City decides to invest in this park,
improvements needed will be:
• Benches (1) • KC parks signage
• Multi-Use Trail (1) • Sidewalk infrastructure and a loop trail
• Stream/Creek (1) • Removal of invasive honeysuckle to provide more visibility
• Trash Receptacles (1) • Amenities to draw the public, such as a playground and shelter
