A public engagement and design workshops on the Bruce R. Watkins Connector Community Park project.  The project is federally funded, in part, by the efforts of Rep. Emanuel Cleaver II who secured $4M in Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grant funding in addition to KC Parks’ contribution of $1M in matching funds. The combined funding is intended to improve recreational opportunities for adjacent neighborhoods and to add amenities to attract more people to the area. The project leaders are seeking engagement with the community to identify outdoor amenities and park programming for green space along Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard from Prospect Avenue to Benton Boulevard.
