Pools, Water Parks, and Spraygrounds open Memorial Day weekend
Kansas City Parks and Recreation announces the official opening of all outdoor pools, water parks and spray grounds for the summer season on Memorial Day weekend, starting Saturday, May 25th. Facilities will be open through Labor Day weekend. Additionally, the Southeast Community Center’s brand-new indoor pool is scheduled to open this summer.
The new $3 million Southeast pool is funded through a General Obligation Bonds. It features modern amenities, including advanced filtration systems and accessible entry points. These improvements are designed to foster a vibrant, inclusive environment where the community can come together, stay active, and enjoy the many benefits of aquatic activities.
Each facility has received various upgrades to enhance the experience for visitors. Several pools have new furniture with updated signage. Bay Waterpark has new shower curtains. Budd Park pool was painted. Mary Williams-Neal received new deck furniture, a freshly painted and resurfaced pool, a new water slide, and a repaired main pool pipe.
