February marks the third anniversary of our partnership with the Kansas City Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and to celebrate this impressive milestone, the Kappas are inviting everyone in Kansas City to join them in their monthly litter cleanups on Swope Parkway the first Saturday of every month!

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to the Kappas for their outstanding service and the positive impact they’ve made along Swope Parkway during the past three years. Collectively, they’ve removed thousands of pounds of loose litter from our parks and parkways, and have strengthened the community along the way. When asked what keeps them coming back every month, Kansas City Alumni Chapter Executive Team member Merrell Bennekin said, “Our commitment to cleaning up litter in the community each year reflects our core values of service, leadership, and unity. This tradition aligns with the chapter’s broader mission to uplift communities and foster positive social change.”
