Mayor Pro Tem, Greater Kansas City National Pan-Hellenic Council, and Kansas City collaborate toward increasing voter access

Voting in Kansas City is becoming more accessible thanks to an initiative championed by Mayor Pro Tem Ryana Parks Shaw in partnership with the Greater Kansas City National Pan-Hellenic Council, City of Kansas City, and KC Parks Community Centers.

Kiosks are available at all KC Parks Community Centers where residents can check their voter registration status as well as register to vote. The Greater Kansas City National Pan-Hellenic Council is sponsoring these locations with technology to empower residents to exercise their fundamental right to vote and ensure that every eligible voter is registered.

In 2022, Kansas City had approximately 225,186 registered voters out of nearly 510,000 eligible voters. Less than 45% of eligible voters are registered, highlighting an urgent need for increased engagement and outreach within the Kansas City community.
