SITE LOCATION: 6511 E. 93rd St. STRENGTHS, WEAKNESSES, & OPPORTUNITIES
CLASSIFICATION: Park Schumacher Park is located on the south side of E. 93rd Street across
COUNCIL DISTRICT: 5 the street from the Cerner campus and close to single- and multi-family
PARK DISTRICT: South residential uses. The site preserves a location where the California,
Oregon, and Santa Fe Trails once crossed on their westward path.
ESTABLISHED: 1993 Though the park does not preserve any wagon wheel ruts, it does
ACREAGE: 1.3 acres provide interpretive signage and a native prairie landscape to help
immerse visitors in what this landscape once looked like to European
settlers. The site has great pedestrian access and a picnic shelter
PARK AMENITIES which helps facilitate educational programming. The size of the space
otherwise limits park and recreation opportunities. The plan proposes
