SITE LOCATION: The Paseo & Volker Blvd. STRENGTHS, WEAKNESSES, & OPPORTUNITIES
CLASSIFICATION: Park Thomas J. Kiely Park is a park property located on the west side of The
COUNCIL DISTRICT: 5 Paseo and the north side of Brush Creek and is a component within
PARK DISTRICT: Central the greater Brush Creek Greenway. This park honors a Kansas Citian
who gave his life serving his country in the First World War. There is a
ESTABLISHED: 1926 small plaza that overlooks the creek which once featured a French 75
ACREAGE: .58 acres mm cannon. Today, there is a granite monument that memorializes two
other fallen Kansas City veterans but no mention of Lieutenant Kiely.
