Six new courts added for residents to enjoy and be active.
Kansas City officials, KC Parks staff and local Pickleball players gathered this morning for the ribbon cutting and official opening of a new six-court Pickleball Complex in Minor Park. The courts, located at 1601 Red Bridge Rd., are accessible from Red Bridge Road between Holmes and Blue River Roads.
The complex was funded by the City’s Public Improvements Advisory Committee (PIAC) and installed by PCC Sports under the direction of KC Parks Project Manger Daniel Weber.
The new courts are already full of Pickleball players as the sport becomes more popular in the metro. Pickleball open play is currently offered in six of our parks including Brookside Park, Gillham Park, Hyde Park, Roanoke Park, Sheila Kemper Dietrich Park, and Minor Park.
