Month-long celebration highlights the impact of parks and recreation
This July, join Kansas City Parks & Recreation for Park and Recreation Month, as we celebrate how our community is stronger, more vibrant and more resilient because of parks and recreation. A variety of activities are planned for residents of all ages and abilities — including Kansas City’s Lawn Party on July 20th.
KC Parks is celebrating Park and Recreation Month, an initiative of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), by inviting our community to share their experiences, memories and stories about what parks and recreation mean to them. With everything from community centers and aquatic parks to picnic shelters and pickleball, there are plenty of ways that you can celebrate with us, as well!
NRPA and KC Parks encourage everyone who supports parks and recreation to post why their local park and recreation professionals are important to them on social media with #BuildTogetherPlayTogether
