SITE LOCATION: Byers Ave. & N. Antioch Rd. STRENGTHS, WEAKNESSES, & OPPORTUNITIES
CLASSIFICATION: Park Rock Creek Park preserves over 15 acres of woodland in the Rock Creek
COUNCIL DISTRICT: 4 watershed. The property is a natural area and is located behind single-
family homes in the Hills of Rock Creek neighborhood. This parkland

adjoins Sunset Park and together they provide over 43 acres of wildlife
ESTABLISHED: 1957 habitat and a natural buffer between the residential neighborhoods to
ACREAGE: 15.78 acres the north and the industry to the south. There is potential to create a
multi-use trail that would link these two parks and Cooley Park further
east. Such an improvement would link neighborhoods and provide
PARK AMENITIES the residents with access to all this nature. Necessary improvements

• A multi-use path and associated bridges or water crossings
• Removal of select vegetation to provide visibility
• Management plan for invasive plant species
