Featuring Leon Dixon, Historian, Mathematician, Tutor, Education Advocate and Community Activist
Leon Dixon is one of the founders of Kansas City’s noted W.E.B. DuBois Learning Center, where he helped create and lead the Center’s mathematics and academic tutoring program starting in the early 1970s. A well-versed Black history scholar, Dixon is the author of a book titled, “Future In Our Hand.”

Join Us for insightful and up-front conversations with long-time Kansas City community activists/advocates as they share their perspectives on life, living and “changing the game” so everyone can “play to win.”  Don’t miss this opportunity to see and hear firsthand from this dedicated, civic-minded activist and education advocate on how he turned his passion for math, science and Black history into learning opportunities that would benefit Kansas City youth and their families for more than 50 years.
