The Civil War Battlefield Cannon and Markers were placed in 1990 in cooperation with the Monnett Battle Field Fund and the Native Sons and Daughters of Kansas City. It is located in the south end of the park at 55th & Pennsylvania. It was presented to Parks and Recreation as a gift to the people of Kansas City by the Monnett Battle of Westport Fund in July of 1990.
