The City of Kansas City and the City of Fountains Foundation are excited to announce the return of fountain season. The much-anticipated return of the City’s fountains marks the official spring kickoff in Kansas City. As a cherished local tradition and a symbol of life, the fountains’ turning on signifies the City’s renewal and vibrant community spirit.
This year, the City has two locations to celebrate Fountain Day:
Northland Fountain: The 80-foot circular base features a central geyser capable of shooting water up to 35 feet high. As temperatures drop, the water transforms into ice sculptures that capture Kansas City.
Firefighters Fountain and Memorial: The Firefighter’s Memorial Fountain features two bronze figures surrounded by 48 streams of water falling into an 80-foot-wide basin. A bronze larger-than-life sculpture of a firefighter with bowed head is directly north of the fountain. Behind the sculpture is a curved stone wall with bronze plaques listing the names of the fallen firefighters.
